June 25, 2014

Well, we are bringing our Ethiopian study to a close.  We learned some interesting things:
the national anthem
it is the most populous land locked country in the world and the 2nd
most populated country in Africa  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethiopia

They are the 10th largest producer of livestock and coffee is it's most important export.

We made this for dinner:
flat bread with lentils.  It was really yummy!

It's onto our next travel destination:  PALAU!  Am I the only person who had never heard of this place???  Wish us luck in finding out information!  :)

Today our family is starting a fun adventure! We would love to be able to travel the world or even the United States or...Anyways you get the idea!  We can't afford to travel where we would like, so I decided that we will do "Passport To The World" from the comforts of our own home.  I wrote all the countries, states of the U.S.A., territories, etc. each on slips of paper which we folded and put in a jar.
(That was a lot of little slips of paper!)

Then, I am having my kids take turns drawing out a paper.  We will then learn a little something about that place:  a little of the culture, try to make some of the native foods, watch movies set in those areas, etc.  It should be fun and educational!  Our first "travel destination" is...

Ethiopia!!!
Stay tuned for details of what we find out about this first destination on our world travels!
